Summary of Essentialism Includes Key Takeaways and Analysis eBook FastReads Reviews

I found this book truly amazing, I am pretty sure you will realize that it is way too helpful when it comes to making decisions about what is your priority and what is not. There are certainly a few key takeaways that make you believe that you can do something really good if you make it your priority, but when you want to do it all at the same time, you will not obtain good results.

"When many things are a priority, nothing is a priority."

It gives you advises and lets you know that if only you could find out what your priority is you will be the best at the things you do!

“The ability to choose cannot be taken away or even given away— it can only be forgotten.”

It also let us know that one of the best
FastReads’ Summary of Essentialism by Greg McKeown Is a well written run down of the essential takeaways from McKeowns book. I liked that the book offers ideas and insights into how one can sort through and decide what is truly essential to us. What seems essential to others really just may not make the cut with someone else which can be disappointing to those who thought it was essential, but they will realize that you’re doing your best work by properly prioritizing your load! I recommend this book to anyone struggling with prioritizing and making the best of the essentials. It’s a super short read and packed full of helpful advice and information on how to become an essentialist! I’ll probably go back through and read it again myself a couple times.
Here is a quick read to give you the basics of Essentialism and provide insight into the book. I found that it was very easy to follow along and understand. The author does a great job of providing the necessary details but still leaving a need to read the full book. I found the information provided thought worthy and found that it gave me a bit to think about. It does give me that knowledge I needed as to if I wanted to purchase the full book and read it. I would definitely be buying the book in the future to clear up some more facts and details mentioned in this summary. I did find that the information provided were more suited for my working life than my personal life. So all in all the summary was both enlightening and educational in regards to what information was in the actual book.
Sometimes reading a nonfiction book can be difficult, especially when you are looking for answers to your questions and need them quickly. This book helps with that. It breaks down the book Essentialism, chapter by chapter, which allows you to get a concise view of the book, the main points of it, and the most crucial things to know. Since everything is broken down into palatable chunks, they are more straightforward to follow and institute into your life. My favorite is when taking some time for yourself is discussed, as well as a prompt to get an adequate amount of sleep. Although these things seem rather obvious, many of us need to be reminded of the little things, in order to be able to conquer the large things. Pick this one up for a little guidance when it comes to understanding how to make good decisions and make the most of your time.
Greg McKeown in this book explores the idea of essentialism with the intention of eliminating the less productive activities and focusing only on those that enhance value. He defines an essentialist as one who “gives himself permission to stop trying to do everything. In so doing, he focuses on what is vital and, subsequently, makes meaningful contributions in core areas of his work and life.” He hits a raw nerve in the very first page. We have all had unsuccessful attempts at balancing multiple activities eventually falling off by accomplishing neither activity to its fullest potential. Essentialism shows us the path by filtering through the noise and letting go of the tasks that are not absolutely essential.

What I liked most of this book is its practicality. Greg McKeown draws from his own experiences as a business coach and highlights strategies that helps in focusing only on the essential. He speaks of the famous Pareto Principle, intuition, creativity and the ability to cut your losses. He speaks with philosophical conviction of the eternal dilemma of choosing the right option out of many, overcoming cognitive biases, multitasking, leadership essentials and the significance of trade-offs. The book contains an executive summary, with every chapter showcasing key takeaways of Essentialist principles. The writing is easy and highly logical, and leaves you convinced of the benefits in embracing essentialism.
I have decided the best way to read a self-help book is one that has been condensed to a FastReads format. I read the slimmed down version of Summary of Essentialism by Greg McKeown by FastReads. I feel like the minutia of a Self-help novel have been stripped away, and I am able to dive into the critical advice I should be gleaning from the book.
The Summary of Essentialism advices you to sort through your tasks, and only take on those that are truly important. You should not spend time on peripheral matters. Which is exactly what this FastReads book does. It lets you focus on the core elements, and gives you the basics of the book.
I recommend a readers circle leader to get this book as a guide to discussing key ideas and topics to accompany the full book. This invaluable book synopsis offers a glimpse into Greg McKeown's full length book and is a way to determine not only if this.book is right for you, it is also useful to discover things you may not have put much thought into.
